Waldron Wellness for Kids

Waldron Wellness Center offers two programs for children, each geared toward a different age group.

Child Watch

Child Watch services are open to members’ children ages 6 weeks to 10 years old.

Child Watch Hours

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 8:45–10:45 a.m.

  • Mondays–Thursdays: 5–7 p.m.

Children ages 6 weeks to 10 years can enjoy fun and games in our Child Watch room while parents work out at the Waldron Wellness Center. Children can play at our train table, with our many different toys and games, or enjoy story times and craft times.

During warm months, we may even walk around the center to the outdoor playground, if parents permit. Our Child Watch staffers are dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for member families; background checks and infant/child CPR and AED certifications are required for all Waldron staff.

Child Watch Policies

Users of the Waldron Wellness Center Child Watch programs must observe the following policies:

  • USAGE: Children can only be left by a responsible parent/guardian who is a member of the Waldron Wellness Center, and only during Child Watch hours while that parent/guardian is using the Waldron Wellness Center.

  • BEHAVIOR: Children are not to run, scream, yell, hit, push or otherwise be disruptive in the Child Watch program. If a child does not adhere to these policies, we may ask the parent/guardian to come talk to the child, and if behavior doesn't improve, we reserve the right to ask the responsible adult to remove the child from the Child Watch program. We also reserve the right to withdraw Child Watch program privileges for extended amounts of time if necessary.

  • ILLNESS: Please do not bring your child into the Child Watch program if they've had any of the following within the last 48 hours: fever, diarrhea, vomiting/nausea, excessive coughing, pink eye, green mucus from nose or rashes. We reserve the right to refuse any child suspected of being ill in order to protect other children, our members and staff.

  • SAFETY POLICIES: The Child Watch emergency form must be completed and on file before you may leave a child in the Child Watch program. Because this form contains vital health information, this policy will be strictly adhered to. In case of an emergency, a staff member will notify you immediately. The Child Watch staff is certified in infant/child CPR and first aid, and all staff members undergo criminal background checks. Security cameras record activities in the Child Watch program.

Please feel free to ask our front desk or our manager if you have any concerns with or questions about these policies. Thank you for helping us to make the Waldron Wellness Center a safe, healthy place for all our members.

Chill Zone

Chill Zone is a cool place for kids ages 8–12. Hang out, study, draw or read while parents use the Waldron Wellness Center, and while younger children enjoy Child Watch.

Chill Zone Policies

  • Family membership is required for use of the Chill Zone.

  • Chill Zone citizens may play video games or use a personal device with earbuds (for audible games). Citizens may read our books, but please return them to the shelf. Bring homework or books, or use our art supplies or crafts. Please clean up after yourself and leave the room nice for the next people who use it.

Note to Parents

Waldron Wellness Center reserves the right to remove any child who is not cooperating with others or with staff in the Chill Zone. No wellness staff are stationed in the Chill Zone. Encourage your children to play or read quietly while in the Chill Zone.
