Events Focused on the Local Community
Each year, the Eastmont Community Foundation holds a number of events for the local community, including Casino Night, the Eastmont Tomato Festival and the Oldtown Nights Concert Series. These events attract people from the local area as well as from all across Southwest Virginia.
Casino Night
Casino Night is the Eastmont Community Foundation’s major annual fundraiser. Have a fabulous night with blackjack, roulette, poker, craps tables, slot machines and horse racing.

The 2024 Casino Night will be held 5:30–9 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024.
A live DJ from Creative Entertainment of Roanoke will be on hand. There is also a silent and live auction.
A Key Fundraiser
Casino Night is an important fundraiser for the Eastmont Community Foundation. While the gaming is all for show, the real winner will be the Eastmont Community Foundation — and eastern Montgomery County.
Since 2004, Casino Night has raised funds for the Meadowbrook Center which features the Waldron Fitness Center, the Meadowbrook Public Library, a community center, a recreation room and museum. It also has facilitated the renovation of the Old Elliston Fire House into a food pantry and thrift shop.
Independence Day Celebration 5K and Fun Run
Join us for the 2024 Independence Day Celebration 5K and Fun Run! This race will begin and end at Old Town Fields.
Date: Tuesday, July 4, 2024
Time: Race begins at 8 a.m. rain or shine

Oldtown Nights Concert Series
The Oldtown Nights Concert Series located at Old Town Fields — the former Shawsville Middle School athletic fields — features live music, food and fun for the entire family!

If You Attend…
COST: $5 admission, 12 and younger admitted free.
TIME: All concerts are 6–9 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
FOOD and DRINK: Concessions, bottled water and adult beverages will be available. No outside drinks allowed.
PAYMENT: Bring cash for ticket and beer sales; we have limited credit card sales.
SEATING: Please bring chairs; no tents or umbrellas are allowed.
PETS: No pets; service dogs are allowed.

Meadowbrook Open Golf Tournament

Madison Farm, Elliston
The 2023 Madison E. Marye Meadowbrook Open Golf Tournament was a popular event! Play the popular 18 hole par-3 field golf course. The holes are 3 feet wide and everyone has a chance for a hole-in-one. After play, enjoy dinner at the 19th hole.
